Oversize Load Permit Is Required:
Width: Over 9' 0"
Height: Over 14' 0"
Length: Semi-trailer over 48' 0"
Weight: 88,000 lbs. GVW (22,500 lbs. single axle or 34,000 lbs. tandem axle)

Oversize Load Times Of Movement:
As specified in permit, movement on Saturdays and Sundays may be permitted at the discretion of the district engineer
Movement of oversize or overweight vehicles shall not be permitted on days and during hours when in the opinion of the district engineer, extremely heavy traffic is expected

Hawaii Pilot Car / Escort Vehicle is Required:
Over 12' wide requires 1 pilot car
Over 14' wide requires 2 pilot cars
Over 4' overhang requires 1 pilot car
Height requirements depend on clearance, call (808) 831-6712

Hawaii Pilot Car Vehicle Requirments:
Passenger car or two-axle truck with a rated capacity not to exceed 2,000 lbs GVW
At least one rotating or oscillating amber light mounted on top of the cab. The amber light(s) shall have sufficiant intensity to be visable at 500′
Two way radio
Check Rules & Regulations for use of Flagman and further requirements

Hawaii Pilot Car Operator Requirements:
Low beam headlights must be used while escorting a load
If traffic control is required, the use of a flagman, seperate from the driver is required ( may use a police officer)
