Weight: 80,000 lbs. GVW (20,000 lbs. single axle or 34,000 lbs. tandem axle)
Oversize Load Times Of Movement:
Sunrise to Sunset; no travel on Saturday or Sunday.
Continuous operation may be granted for overweight only-not over 10' wide, or not over 14' high, or not more than 10' rear overhang or 3' front overhang.
Restricted travel on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
If the holiday falls on a Monday, movement shall stop before noon the Friday preceeding the holiday.
Permit office is closed on the above holidays plus Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Columbus Day and Veteran's Day. (No travel restrictions)

Over 14' wide requires 1 or more pilot cars
Over 16' high requires 1 or more pilot cars
Over 120' long requires 1 or more pilot cars
Front or rear overhang greater than 20' requires 1 pilot car
Pilot cars required for weight determined by AZDOT
Arizona Pilot Car Vehicle Requirments:
Passenger car or two-axle truck operating as a single unit
Currently registered and meets insurance requirements as provided by law
Warning lights are required.
"OVERSIZE LOAD" sign mounted above the vehicle's roofline with dimensions of 5' X 1' with 1" black letters on yellow background.
Two 12"flags, one mounted on each side of the oversize load sign; and not visible when not in use.
Two-way radio compatible with two way radios in towing/escort vehicles, capable of transmitting / receiving voice messages over a minimum distance of ½ mile.
At least eight emergency warning devices.
A complete first aid kit.

Arizona Escort Vehicle Operator Requirements
2 red emergency flags on a staff.
Minimum age of 18 with a valid drivers license.
Have a valid, legible escort vehicle operator certificate issued by Arizona, or from another State in your immediate possession.
Repeat training & certification requirements at least once every 4 years.
Maintain a lead- or follow-distance not exceeding 1,500 feet from the escorted vehicle.
In an urban setting, maintain a lead- or follow-distance not exceeding 250 feet from the escorted vehicle.
