Oversize Load Permit Is Required:
Width: Over 8' 6"
Height: Over 13' 6"
Length: Semi-trailer over 53' 6"
Weight: Over 80,000 lbs. GVW (20,000 lbs. single axle or 34,000 lbs. tandem axle)

Oversize Load Times Of Movement:
Daylight hours only unless permit allows travel on holidays and at night (Overweight only).
Permits may be issued for overdimensional loads to be moved on Saturday and Sunday.
Loads not exceeding 90' in length may travel 24/7.
Travel prohibited on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas.
May Travel, if Permit allows, on the following holidays: Martin Luther King Day, Robert E Lee's Birthday, George Washington's Birthday & Veteran's Day.(Permit office is closed on the above holidays as well as Confederate Memorial Day and the day after Thanksgiving Day)
Curfew from 7am - 9am & from 4pm - 6pm in Little Rock area on I-30 (mm137-143, mm151-155) and all of Interstate 630.

Arkansas Pilot Car / Escort Vehicle is Required:
2 Lanes:

Over 12' wide requires 1 pilot car
Over 14' wide requires 2 pilot cars
Over 15' high requires 1 pilot car in front with height pole

14' to 16' wide requires 1 pilot car

Arkansas Pilot Car Vehicle Requirments:
Truck with a rated load capacity of not less than ¼ ton or an automobile with a Gross Vehicle Weight of not less than 2,000 lbs.
Must be licensed in Arkansas or by a state with reciprocal agreements with Arkansas.
"OVERSIZE LOAD" sign must be cunstructed of a durable material with yellow background and black letters (2" brush stroke) which are 10" high minimum.
When escorting a mobile home, the sign must state "OVERSIZE (width in feet) LOAD"
Lights must be mounted on top of vehicle and visable a full 360 degrees. Must have either a rotating amber light with incandescent or halogen bulb lamps emitting 35,000 candlepower minimum with a factory certified steady beam and a minimum lens height of 6" or a strobe type flashing (80 flashes per minute) amber light capable of emitting a minimum of 500,000 total candlepower with a minimum 3½" lens height.
Two (2) solid red flags, 18" square, mounted on top of vehicle in line with the warning lights, at an angle between 40 and 70 degrees. Flags shall not extend more than six (6") form the side of vehicle and the total spread shall not exceed 8'.
One (1) ten(10)pound class B, C fire extinguisher.
Four (4) 15 minute flares, light sticks or triangles.
Must have the name and address or the telephone number and the city of the company/owner of the escort vehicle on the door of each side of the vehicle, plainly legible and visible to the motoring public.

Arkansas Pilot Car Operator Requirements:
No certification required but the driver shall carry in the vehicle proof of liability insurance in the amount of $100,000 each for bodily injury or death; $300,000 each accident and $25,000 property damage. ($325,000 minimum combined single limit coverage)
Note: Escort must register insurance with Arkansas being the State certificate holder. (If not, subject to fines and revocation of permits)
